| In this
entirely acoustic project, Maurizio Ravalico joins forces with master
tuba player Oren Marshall in a most unlikely and intriguing duo.
Oren’s tuba is, for this instance, totally unplugged, while
Maurizio is forcibly confining his field of action to his first
and main single instrument, the conga drum.
The result is surprisingly effective, and the sound
palette unexpectedly varied. Maurizio and Oren drift effortlessly
in and out of composed material and long improvised stretches, pulling
out of their instruments sounds hardly imagined before.
