If you fancy a bit of jazz in your life now and then - not jazzy hip-hop,
jazzy drumnbass, smooth jazz or even dinner jazz, but proper,
grown-up jazz-is-an-attitude type jazz then this comp from Londons
F-IRE Collective is a good toe-dipper. The double-CD package features
dark smokiness from Seb Rochfords Mercury-nominated Polar Bear,
frenzied squalls from Acoustic Ladyland, Afro-Cuban drums from Méta
Méta and electronic splatters from Tom Arthurs and Leaf Cutter
John. It all makes for a forward-looking listen. Just dont use it
as the backdrop for your candlelit dinner.
